Chennai Super Kings
The cricket franchise of Chennai is Chennai Super Kings that
is playing under IPL. The Team founded in 2008 and owned by India Cements who
paid $91 million to get its rights for 10 years. The President of BCCI N.
Srinivasan is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the team CSK. M. A.
Chidambaram Stadium is its home ground. The team is coached by Stephen Fleming
while Andy Bichel is its Bowling coach and Steve Rixon is Fielding coach of the
team. The captain is Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
CSK won the two successive IPL title of 2011 and 2012 also
reached the plays off every season. It is the only team that is playing the
sixth season with the same captain. The team also recognized as it’s the only
Indian team who have won the Champions League T20. Suresh Raina is the main run
scorer and Albie Morkel is a leading wicket taker of the team. The consistent
brilliant performance made the franchise market value very high. The current
estimated brand value of the franchise is US$ 75.13 million that is the most
valuable franchise of the IPL. Film Actor Vijay and Actress Nayantara were the
brand ambassadors but later on they were removed.
The team came with a solid start in 2008 IPL and won the
first match against Kings XI Punjab by 33 runs. They were the runners-up team
of 2008 also qualified for Champions League T20. CSK won 9 matches out of 16
and ended up the session by 2nd position from top. Next year proved a bit
difficult for them as they were the semifinal runners up team and could not
qualify for the Champions League T20. They played 15 total matches and won 8
and ended up the season by standing at 4th position on the performance chart.
But the team proved them with a great come back in next season and became the champions
of the 2010 IPL also were the champions of the Champions League T20. They won 9
out of 16 matches of the tournament. They got the best team title of IPL again
in 2011 IPL season 4. CSK played 16 matches won 11 with a percentage of 68.75%
and became the champions. Their success graph showed a slight down slide during
2012 its 5th season of IPL. But the won 10 out of 19 matches with a percentage
of 55.56% and were the runners-up team of 2012.
MS Dhoni is the costliest player of the team with his salary
$3.000,000. Other players of the team are Ravindra Jadeja, Suresh Raina, Murali
Vijay, Ravinchandran Ashwin, Chris Morris, Albie Morkel, Micheal Hussey, Dwayne

Kings XI Punjab is an Indian Premier League franchise which
represent Punjab, India. KXIP is owned by Bollywood Actress Preity Zinta, Karan
Paul (Apeejay Surendera Group) and Mohit Burman of Dabur.Kings XI Punjab's
franchise was acquired by $76 million.Australian
cricketer Adam Gilchrist is captain for KXIp while Darren Lehmann is head coach
for Kings XI Punjab. Bollywood singer Daler Mehndi is the brand ambassador for
Kings Xi Punjab. PCA Stadium, Mohali is the home ground for Kings XI Punjab.In
the 2008 IPL KXIP won its 10 matches out of 15 and qualified for semi-finals
but didnot make it to the finals.In opening season of IPL Shaun Marsh was the
highest run scorer with an average of 68.44 and a strike rate of 139.68 in 11
innings. His innings included 1 century and 5 half-centuries.
From 2009 to 2011
they failed to make any promonent place in the IPL points table. In last season
of IPL 2012 Kxip finished 6th out of 9 teams.KXIP's successes in 2012 included
the opening batting of Mandeep Singh with Nitin Saini the bowling of Parvinder
Awana and all-round displays from Azhar Mahmood. KXIP started IPL 2013 with
their opening match against Pune Warriors India which they won by 8 wickets but
lost their next match to M.S. Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings. David
Hussey,Adam Gilchrist and Shaun Marsh
will be their frontline batsmen for KXIP. Mandeep Singh, the star of the last
season for Kings XI Punjab is also expected to agian perform like previous
season of IPL. Then you have the other Indian youngsters such as Nitin Saini,
Paul Valthaty and Gurkeerat Singh Mann.Adam Gilchrist is back for IPL 2013.As
after the last season of Indian Premier League he took retirement from
International Cricket but revied his desicion and is back again in

Pomersbach strengthens the batting line of KIngs XI Punjab. Azhar Mahmood is
